Dr. David Samadi sure is SMART

David B. Samadi is the Chairman of Urology and the Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is also a famous celebrity doctor.

Dr. Samadi was born in the country of Iran. He lived in one of the Jewish regions. He was raised there and lived through the Iranian Revolution. In 1979, he and his younger brother left their home in search of a better life. They moved to Belgium, and then they moved to London. They finally settled in the United States where they completed their high-school education in Roslyn, New York.

Dr. Samadi worked hard, and after high school, he got a full scholarship for Stony Brook University where he earned his degree in biochemistry. He went on to earn his M.D from the Stony Brook School of Medicine in 1994. After this, he went to the Montefiore Medical Center to get training in urology and then the Albert Einstein College of Medicine for proctology.

Dr.David Samadi became brilliant doctor, and his prostate cancer surgery technique is proof of that.

The Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique, or SMART, is a minimally invasive robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy. It is a highly advanced procedure that uses robotic surgery to completely remove cancer cells in the prostate.

While there are other surgeries that can do this, Dr. Samadi’s is unique in that it preserves certain aspects of the prostate. His SMART technology not only removes all cancerous cells, but it also allows urinary control and even allows sex after prostate cancer.

His technique preserves the sensitive, irreplaceable components of the pelvic and prostate regions.
